From the source,
with integrity.
It started with a personal search for the real Hapus. What began in the mango orchards of the Konkan has now taken Behest Of Nature across Bharat.
“Every mango season, while buying Alphonso mangoes in the market, I often wondered whether the mangoes being sold as Hapus were genuinely from the right variety and region. That curiosity led me to look beyond the market and find the source myself.”
The Search for the Real Hapus
I travelled to Ratnagiri in the Konkan, visited mango orchards, met the farmers and experienced the mango season at its source. I saw how authentic Alphonso is grown, harvested, sorted, graded and naturally ripened on the farm.
Saying No to Artificial Ripening
I also became aware of the widespread use of calcium carbide for artificial ripening — a chemical shortcut that compromises flavor and health. I did not want that associated with the food I offered to our customers. Naturally ripened. Calcium-carbide free. Direct from the orchard.
Direct Farmer Connect
I wanted to bring food to people through a more direct and transparent connection with its source — working directly with farmers and producers rather than simply buying through conventional market channels. It is equally important that the farmer benefits from the value of what they grow and that consumers receive products they can trust.
Across Bharat for Authentic Food
What began with my search for the real Hapus has now taken me across Bharat — discovering single-origin Lakadong turmeric from women farmers in Meghalaya, and authentic regional foods that are pure, natural, and deeply connected to their origins.
Good Food Begins at the Source
“We don’t just source products. We discover their stories.” We choose products with care — keeping quality, transparency, nature and farmer livelihoods at the heart of everything we do.
